MoMA to Reunite Mondrian's Boogie Woogie Paintings in 2027

In March 2027, the Museum of Modern Art will unveil "Mondrian Boogie Woogie," an exhibition dedicated to Piet Mondrian's later years in New York City. The exhibit opens on March 21 and will be available until July 31, highlighting the Dutch artist's arrival in 1940 after escaping Europe. At 66, he found inspiration in the boogie-woogie pianists at Café Society, the first racially integrated nightclub in the city, which influenced his transition from rigid grid patterns to lively, syncopated works. A key feature will be the reunion of Broadway Boogie Woogie (1942–43) and the incomplete Victory Boogie Woogie (1942–44), displayed together for the first time since the early 1990s. Additionally, the ninth edition of Zurich Art Weekend is set for June 12–14, showcasing 70 venues, 75 exhibitions, and 150 events. The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC, has received a historic $15 million donation from the Sherman Fairchild Foundation, the largest in its 105-year history, with $11.75 million allocated to the endowment and the rest enhancing community programs at Phillips@THEARC. Finally, Tyler, the Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival will take place on November 14–15 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, while the New European Bauhaus Festival will return to Brussels from June 9–13, themed "Life. Spaces. Buildings."
