Molly Casares: Invisible Organs of Shame at Chiasso Perduto

British artist Molly Casares presents "Organi invisibili" at Chiasso Perduto in Florence, from July 29 to August 1, 2025. The opening is on Wednesday, July 29, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Visitors are invited to bring a stone to feel the weight of their own body, a gesture the artist describes as reminding the body of its gravity. The stone also alludes to shame, a central theme of the project. Casares creates soft textile sculptures that resemble human bodies, weighted, anchored, or pierced by materials. These interventions highlight the skin as a translucent frontier. The exhibition culminates in a series of "shame organs"—imaginary organs that give volume, weight, and texture to shame, transforming it from an abstract psychological state into something tangible.
