MK's Painterly Return: Instinct, Nature, and Emotional Color

MK, a Belgian-born artist of Spanish heritage now based in Switzerland, has developed a distinctive painting practice rooted in instinct rather than formal training. After a long pause, she returned to painting three years ago with renewed commitment. Her work blends Figurative Expressionism with Impressionist sensitivity, using oil, acrylic, and mixed media on linen to create dense, textured surfaces. Influenced by van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin, and Abstract Expressionism, she transforms natural motifs—trees, flowers, oceans, moons—into charged visual experiences. Her palette draws on Spanish warmth (reds, golds, oranges) and Swiss calm. Series include Lumière, Univers, Les jardins du paradis, Vibration, and Impact. She has been a finalist in international competitions and exhibited in New York, Paris, London, Milan, and Monaco, with future projects in Seoul. Her work explores duality, memory, and the living world, aiming to communicate across cultural boundaries through color, texture, and movement.
