Minnesota State Fair Removes Anti-Trump Crop Art After Artist Harassed

The Minnesota State Fair removed a crop artwork featuring the anti-Trump slogan "8647" at the artist's request after she was doxxed, harassed, and threatened by right-wing agitators. The artwork, made from black and red beans with yellow corn kernels spelling "8647," was part of the fair's seed art exhibition. The number "8647" combines "86," a hospitality term meaning to remove, with "47," referencing Trump's status as the 47th U.S. President. Conservative outlet Alpha News highlighted the piece on social media, leading to the artist's private address being shared and threats made against her. The artist has not commented publicly, and Hyperallergic declined to reproduce the image for privacy reasons. Fellow crop artist Ike Whiting told Hyperallergic that the artist contacted the fair "with regard to her own safety" after the harassment, calling the situation "shocking and unacceptable."
