Milan Design Week 2026, Sydney Cathedral Precinct, and Global Cultural Infrastructure Projects Announced
From April 20 to 26, 2026, Milan Design Week will take place with the theme 'Be the Project,' showcasing design installations in Brera, Tortona, and Isola. On April 18, 2026, the V&A East Museum, designed by O'Donnell + Tuomey, will open in London. In Sydney's Waitara, Níall McLaughlin Architects are working on the Cathedral Precinct Project, which will include a new cathedral and community services. The Getty Center in Los Angeles is set to close for modernization from 2027 to 2028. Kéré Architecture has finished the first Goethe-Institut in Dakar, while COX Architecture is converting Brisbane's Treasury Building into a Griffith University campus, expected to open in 2027. Autodesk will receive the National Building Museum's 2026 Honor Award, and Coachella will feature works by Sabine Marcelis, Kyriakos Chatziparaskevas, and LADG.
