Michel Comte's Career-Spanning Solo Show at Camera Work Berlin

Michel Comte, a Swiss photographer with a career exceeding 40 years, will showcase a solo exhibition at Camera Work in Berlin from July 11, 2025, to August 29, 2026. This exhibition will present 30 carefully chosen pieces by the artist, highlighting significant works from the 1980s and 1990s. It includes vintage prints from the Camera Work collection and editioned pieces from Editions Comte, an organization based in Paris focused on preserving Comte's artistic legacy. Editions Comte holds over 500,000 negatives and vintage prints dating from the late 1980s to 2007. Comte's journey began in contemporary art restoration, working with icons like Andy Warhol and Yves Klein, before moving to Paris in 1979, where he was discovered by Karl Lagerfeld for Chloé. He later collaborated with Vogue, Vanity Fair, Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Nike, Lancôme, Mercedes-Benz, and Hennessy, capturing images of stars such as Naomi Campbell, Iman, Mike Tyson, and Tina Turner. His impactful works include the 1994 'Save Safe Sex Campaign' addressing the AIDS crisis, which raised over $1 million, and the 1996 'Beauty and the Beast' series on endangered species. Editions Comte also collaborates with Galerie Andres Thalmann (Zurich/Paris).
