Michael Bargo and BENI Launch Oak Lane Rug Collection

Michael Bargo, an interior designer and furniture retailer, has teamed up with the global rug company BENI to launch Oak Lane, a collection featuring six rugs and the brand's inaugural woven floor pillow. This line draws inspiration from Bargo's yearly summer tradition in Amagansett, incorporating his 'Beach Kit' of Japanese fabrics, vintage linens, and woven tapestries, aiming for an instantly lived-in vibe. The rugs showcase bold stripes, contrasting plaids, and woven edges, influenced by Jean Prouvé's architectural style, the whimsical designs of Les Lalannes, and Brice Marden's minimalist approach. Oak Lane introduces two new weaving styles: Safaa, a looser flatwoven option, and Rif, a slimmer, more relaxed design, enhancing BENI's range to five unique constructions. The color palette includes Oat and Natural Wool as foundational shades, complemented by Tangerine Orange and Pine Cone for added warmth. The floor pillow, crafted from the rugs, pays homage to Moroccan textile heritage. Tiberio Lobo-Navia, co-founder of BENI, emphasizes the collection's suitability for layering and everyday use, while Bargo describes the overall aesthetic as both sophisticated and casual, featuring artful color pairings that appear effortless.
