Mestiz Opens New Studio and Showroom at Fábrica La Aurora in San Miguel de Allende
Daniel Valero, the architect behind the home furnishings brand Mestiz, has relocated to a new studio spanning 1,500 square feet in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, situated within Fábrica La Aurora, an art center housed in a former textile factory from 1902. Established 11 years ago, Mestiz partners with Mexican artisans to utilize traditional crafting methods. The studio includes a painting space, a custom loom, and functions as a by-appointment showroom for unique items such as furniture and ceramics. Valero, now in his fifth year creating window displays for Hermès, has developed prototypes for installations. This month, Mestiz will unveil a collection with Monoprix, and Valero's public installation, “Twenty Petal Flower,” will be showcased in New York from October 26 to November 3.
