Memory of Touch: Chapter I at Kunsthalle Praha

Kunsthalle Praha presents 'Memory of Touch: Chapter I', the first major exhibition of its collection, curated by Tevž Logar with scientific associate Barbora Ropková. The show features over 30 artists including Zbyněk Baladrán, Agnes Denes, Milan Knížák, and Kurt Schwitters from the collection, alongside invited Czech artists Jakub Choma, Lukáš Hofmann, Igor Hosnedl, Valentýna Janů, Marie Lukáčová, and Roman Štětina. The exhibition explores fragility and vulnerability as aesthetic and political strategies, creating non-chronological dialogues between historical avant-garde, post-war works, and contemporary pieces. The title originated from a conversation with artist Valentýna Janů. The Kunsthalle Praha Collection comprises over 2,000 works, based on the Pudil Family Foundation loan and including the Fluxus Collection of Marie and Milan Knížák. A multilingual audioguide is available in collaboration with the Cabinet of Wonders platform.
