Melanie Walters Eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing in Week Two Dance-Off
Melanie Walters, aged 64 and recognized for her portrayal of Gwen West in Gavin and Stacey, has been voted off Strictly Come Dancing. She danced a Charleston alongside her partner, Aljaz Skorjanec, 36, to "Ooh Ahh… Just A Little Bit" by Gina G, earning a score of 17. Judge Craig Revel Horwood was critical of her performance, while Motsi Mabuse offered her support. In the dance-off, Walters competed against Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr, who received a score of 15 for their quickstep. Despite Mabuse's vote to keep Walters, judges Ballas, Du Beke, and Revel Horwood opted to save Wright-Phillips, leading to Walters' elimination. She expressed gratitude to her Gavin and Stacey co-stars in Welsh. The eliminated pair will join It Takes Two on Monday, while the other 13 couples prepare for icons week next week.
