Marullo and Bellini's Art-Design Dialogue at Umano Space, Pietrasanta

In Pietrasanta, Umano Space presents a new installation pairing Fabio Marullo's paintings with Mario Bellini's Camaleonda seating, curated by Alessandra Denza. The exhibition, titled 'Con gli occhi degli uccelli' for Marullo's series, runs until September 14, 2026, at Piazza Duomo 4. Marullo, born in Catania in 1973, offers aerial perspectives reminiscent of Futurist Aeropittura, with soft chromatic transitions evoking liquid, marshy landscapes. Bellini, born in Milan in 1935, contributes his modular, soft Camaleonda sofas, which ground the viewer physically. The installation explores the tension between verticality and horizontality, between the disembodied gaze and the seated body, questioning the act of seeing as a matter of posture and distance. Umano Space, founded two years ago by Alessandro Pardossi, is a micro-institution in Pietrasanta's historic center dedicated to relational and intimate art practices. It aims to bridge the gap between art and design, a dialogue often hindered in Italy where design is relegated to showrooms. The space distinguishes itself from the town's tourist-oriented galleries by offering an understated, synesthetic experience, aligning with spaces like Galleria Antonia Jannone.
