Martina Kocianova's mushroom jewellery blends foraging, astrology, and goldsmithing

Martina Kocianova, an alumna of the Sarabande Foundation, designs mushroom-inspired jewelry influenced by her childhood foraging experiences in Slovakia with her mother. After completing her studies at Central Saint Martins, she enhanced her stone-setting and carving techniques through the Sarabande artists programme. Her debut collection gained commercial success and caught the eye of Sarah Burton, who acquired multiple items. The latest collection showcases gold mushrooms adorned with emerald, jade, red jasper, and rainbow moonstone, with each piece linked to a zodiac sign and customizable based on Sun, Moon, and Rising placements. Kocianova delves into the conceptual aspect of mycelium's connection to nature, and clients are now requesting custom pieces carved from their own crystals. She aspires to be the premier creator of mushroom heirlooms.
