exhibition · 2026-04-26

From 15 October 2026 to 5 February 2027, 21Art Roma, located at Largo della Fontanella di Borghese, will showcase fifteen pieces, primarily created in 2026, in an exhibition titled Mario Ceroli {IO}, curated by Cesare Biasini Selvaggi. This marks Ceroli's first private gallery exhibition in Rome in over two decades. Born in Castel Frentano in 1938, he relocated to Rome in 1948 and pursued studies at the Istituto d'Arte. In 1956, Ceroli began to focus on wood as his primary medium and received the Premio Gollin at the Venice Biennale in 1966. Notable works include Un anno d'amore (2026) and Labirinto, while Pensiero a Fabrizio De André (2024) reflects on a stolen guitar belonging to the artist. The exhibition also features a blue thread symbolizing Rome's sky and Giotto's ceiling.
