Marina Bay Sands Unveils Paiza Collection: A Quiet Luxury Reinvention

Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, designed by Moshe Safdie and opened in 2010, is undergoing a multi-year transformation. The iconic integrated resort, known for its three 55-storey towers and 340-meter-long Sands SkyPark, has introduced the ultra-luxury Paiza Collection, increasing its suite count from 180 to 775. The redesign, led by Vice-President of Interior Design Evan Burton, shifts from spectacle to discretion, emphasizing residential comfort, personalization, and craftsmanship. The Paiza Collection features handcrafted elements such as embroidered Fromental wallcoverings, Savoir mattresses, and bespoke leather pieces by Bynd Artisan, along with themed suites like the Chairman Suites with baby grand pianos and the wellness-led Horizon Suite with a Himalayan salt wall. The resort now boasts over 160 butlers trained at its own Butler Academy. The transformation includes reimagining approximately 1,850 rooms and suites, drawing inspiration from Singapore's flora and fauna, Southeast Asian craftsmanship, and Peranakan motifs. In 2025, a new 55-storey tower by Las Vegas Sands broke ground nearby, set to include an all-suite hotel, a 15,000-seat arena, and 200,000 square feet of MICE space. Evan Burton highlights the Social Bar and the Armoire and Night Fridge as personal favorite design details, reflecting a move towards intuitive, wellness-led luxury.
