Marina Abramović Creates Limited Edition Wine Labels for Ornellaia's 2023 Vintage

Performance artist Marina Abramović has been selected by Tuscan winemaker Ornellaia for its annual Vendemmia d’Artista program. For the 2023 vintage, themed "Vitality," Abramović designed signed labels for large-format bottles and created an estate artwork. The limited edition consists of 100 double magnums, 10 imperials, and one salmanazar, each signed and numbered by the artist. Abramović described vitality as a fundamental human question concerning life, productivity, and longevity. Her label design features a self-portrait with grapes emerging from her head, which she likens to waves of vitality creating a positive Medusa effect. The Ornellaia 2023 "La Vitalità" wines will be auctioned online by Bonham's in June to support an upcoming Guggenheim Pop exhibition. The vintage is scheduled for release in 2026.
