Marie Laffont Curates “Beyond Time and Space” at Les Rencontres d’Arles

Marie Laffont, a designer known for her work in fashion and footwear, has organized an exhibition titled “Beyond Time and Space: A Curatorial Dialogue,” which opened yesterday in Arles, France. This multidisciplinary show showcases New York-based photographer Clelia Montali’s “Liminal States” series, alongside sculptures by Malù dalla Piccola and candleholders and mirrors crafted by Parisian architect Sophie Dries. Set in a historic monument at 4 Rue de Grille, the exhibition aligns with the OFF Festival Arles during the Les Rencontres d’Arles summer photography festival. Laffont was inspired by the juxtaposition of historical architecture and a minimalist concrete interior. The exhibition reflects on Einstein’s notion that “Time and space are modes by which we think.” A book signing for La Horde Handmade Book, honoring the Ballet National de Marseille, is planned for Wednesday, attracting collectors from Mexico, the U.S., Italy, Canada, and South America.
