Maria Grazia Chiuri's debut Fendi Couture show at Rome's Galleria Nazionale

Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her first Couture collection for Fendi at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GNAMC) in Rome. The show, for Fall/Winter 2026-2027, featured a black-and-white palette and included both womenswear and menswear, a departure from traditional Couture. Chiuri emphasized collaboration among Fendi's ateliers (fur, leather, light and heavy fabrics) and drew inspiration from the house's archive. The day after the show, the exhibition 'Fendi / Karl Lagerfeld 1985. After Steps Through Work' opened at the same venue, curated by fashion theorist Maria Luisa Frisa, running until October 25. Chiuri's designs focused on fluid silhouettes and simplicity, reflecting her personal style rather than established Fendi codes. The collection included a black-and-white striped coat reminiscent of Emilie Flöge, companion of Gustav Klimt. Fendi was founded in 1925 by Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi.
