María Azkarate's 'Tercer Paisaje' Transforms Navarra Museum Chapel

The 'María Azkarate. Tercer Paisaje' exhibition at the Museo de Navarra in Pamplona, which the artist herself curates, will be on display until April 4, 2027. It showcases 16 photographs from two series that were acquired in 2021, along with a multisensory installation titled 'Jardín suspendido', developed with the help of approximately 100 volunteers. This installation features a sound composition by David Serrano and Borja Alcate. Drawing inspiration from Gilles Clément's concept of 'Tercer Paisaje', the project emphasizes the importance of residual spaces as reserves for biodiversity. The installation merges visual, tactile, olfactory, and auditory experiences, incorporating photographs alongside dried plants sourced from the outskirts of Pamplona. Azkarate, an architect turned photographer born in Vitoria in 1977, has works included in numerous esteemed collections and has been honored with the BAFFEST award.
