Mare Vostrum: Eleonora D’Angelo’s Photographs Explore Mediterranean Overtourism at Forte Santa Tecla

The exhibition titled Mare Vostrum. Mare, turismo e paesaggio will commence on September 4, 2026, at Forte Santa Tecla in Sanremo, Italy, showcasing the work of photographer Eleonora D’Angelo. Curated by Laura Tota and Alessandra Villa, the event delves into themes of mass tourism, Mediterranean landscapes, and territorial changes, running until October 11, 2026. Organized by the Direzione regionale Musei nazionali Liguria, D’Angelo’s study on Capri reflects on the effects of overtourism through careful observation. The title's transition from “our sea” to “your sea” signifies the Mediterranean's appropriation by tourists. This historic fortress enhances the understanding of the relationship between the city, sea, and territory, and is part of the fort’s cultural program for its 270th anniversary, in collaboration with Associazione Nazionale Marinai d’Italia.
