Marcos Rodríguez Pantoja, famously referred to as Spain's 'wolf child,' died on August 16, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born on June 7, 1946, in Añora, Córdoba, and faced significant hardship after losing his mother at just 3 years old, suffering from poverty and mistreatment by his stepmother. Around 1953, his father either sold or sent him to a landowner, who then assigned him to a goatherd in the Sierra Morena mountains. Following the goatherd's death, Rodríguez Pantoja survived alone in the wilderness for 11 years, mastering survival skills and claiming to have been accepted by a wolf pack.
