Marco Bizzarri's Journey Through Chilean Mining Landscapes at Balazsi Gallery

Marco Bizzarri's exhibition at Balazsi Gallery in Palma de Mallorca presents photographs and paintings from his travels through northern Chile, specifically the Humboldt Archipelago and Los Choros region. The works explore the impact of mining on the landscape, both physically and atmospherically, with a focus on fine dust that remains suspended in the air. Bizzarri uses a technique of controlled dripping and layered paint to evoke the sedimentation of memory and time. Recurring staircases in industrial settings serve as metaphors for fragility and the ephemeral. The exhibition draws on references to Tim Ingold, Francesco Careri, Allan Sekula, and Robert Smithson, framing the journey as both a lived line and an experiential archive.
