Marçal Prats Creates Geometric Art Collection for Two Paris Hotels

architecture-design · 2026-09-18

Graphic designer Marçal Prats has been tasked by Crowne Plaza Paris République and Le Grand Quartier to produce visual artwork for their guest suites and lobbies located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. This initiative, curated by Double Decker and captured through the lens of Anna Stathaki, aims to replace standard hotel aesthetics with a narrative that fuses graphic design with fine art. Prats draws inspiration from the Centre Pompidou's collection of modern abstract art, reinterpreting significant movements such as Victor Vasarely’s op-art and Piet Mondrian’s De Stijl. The pieces, framed in natural white oak or blackened steel, harmonize with custom interiors, enhanced by ambient daylight and sconces, integrating modernist abstraction into the hospitality experience of Paris. Additional works by Prats and Double Decker can be found on Behance.
