Marazzi's Terramater Tiles: A Nod to 1970s Ceramics

Italian manufacturer Marazzi has introduced the Terramater collection, a series of porcelain stoneware tiles that evoke vintage ceramics through a unique interplay of glazes and natural oxides. The tiles feature three-dimensional, clay-colored linear details that emerge from colored glazes during the firing process, creating richly textured surfaces. Available in seven deeply pigmented colors including blue Laguna and earth-red Cotto, the collection offers two surface patterns: Ritmo, with irregular parallel lines for a dynamic effect, and Losanga, featuring a classic lozenge motif. Designed to hearken back to 1970s ceramics, the tiles come in small-to-medium rectangular and square formats, reinforcing the retro aesthetic. Part of Marazzi's Crogiolo series of artisan-inspired designs, the Terramater tiles are frost-proof and resistant to deep abrasion, making them suitable for both walls and floors. The collection was showcased on Dezeen Showroom, a platform for brands to launch new products to a global audience.
