Mansour and Garcia Shows in Mexico City Blend Humor and Sensuality

Two concurrent exhibitions in Mexico City—Claudio Mansour's "Pompas de jabón" at Drama and Enrique Garcia's "Where the Void Begins" at N.A.S.A.L.—explore offbeat humor and sly sensuality through photography, collage, and found objects. Mansour's show, held in a window-display gallery beneath the Cine Savoy porn cinema, combined original and archival works, including pieces by the late Jesús Magaña, with a readymade kettlebell and coin-grip flooring. The exhibition ran in April and May 2026. Garcia's "Where the Void Begins" at N.A.S.A.L. in Roma Norte featured vinyl dots, found-object sculptures, and schlieren photographs from a science textbook, with espresso cups and conveyor belts from a Veracruz plant. The show was on view from April 9 to May 30, 2026. Both artists challenge the fixity of images, emphasizing physicality and perception.
