Malibu High School by KoningEizenberg Architecture Achieves Net-Zero Energy

KoningEizenberg Architecture has completed Malibu High School, a net-zero energy facility for 525 students on 5.7 acres. Situated between the Pacific Coast and the Santa Monica Mountains, the project reimagines public high school design as a "hillside laboratory" that integrates learning with its coastal foothill setting. The 70,000 ft² building was completed in 2025, with lead architects Nathan Bishop and Michael Pinto. NAC Architecture served as the architecture office. The design team emphasizes that the school engages directly with its environment, extending education beyond classroom walls.
