In 1965, he created the notable piece Children of the Sun for the Singapore Conference Hall. He helped establish Alpha Gallery in 1971 and opened Alpha Utara Gallery in Penang in 2004. With a John D. Rockefeller III grant, he studied at the Pratt Graphic Art Center in New York in 1974.
