Making Faces at Morley Gallery Pairs Yvadney Davis and Rosie Gibbens Through Zsuzsi Roboz Scholarship
The Morley Gallery in London will host "Making Faces," an exhibition featuring Yvadney Davis and Rosie Gibbens, as part of the 2026 Zsuzsi Roboz Scholarship, from September 10 to 26, 2026. The showcase presents a variety of artistic expressions, with Davis crafting faces from paint, wallpaper, and beads, while Gibbens reinterprets them into sculptures. Highlights include Davis's works, "Daylight Come" (2025) and "Daddy Issues" (2026), alongside Gibbens's "Faces 1–8" and "Skin Quilts" (2026), which delve into bodily motifs. Additionally, Gibbens's video, "To Dust: A Memorial for Robot Vacuum Cleaners" (2026), captures a performance from Riga Art Week. An artist talk on September 19 featured Davis and Dr. Zoé Whitley discussing the experiences of Black women, with both artists linked through the Royal College of Art.
