MAJU's Jello Lamp freezes gelatin wobble into 3D-printed table light

architecture-design · 2026-07-21

MAJU, a studio based in Singapore and California, has introduced the Jello Lamp, a sculptural table light crafted through 3D printing. This innovative piece captures the delicate essence of gelatin desserts and balloon art, transforming them into a lasting, practical item. Lead designer Hyu Lim created the lamp with soft, rounded shapes and scalloped edges reminiscent of balloon animals and jello molds. Each lamp is custom-made in MAJU's California and Singapore workshops using biodegradable, plant-based PLA, minimizing waste. Its modular design allows for easy replacement or upgrading of shades and bases, and it features a built-in cord organizer. The lamp measures 9.5 × 9.5 × 12.25 inches, weighs approximately half a pound, and operates with a 2.9W bulb at a warm 2700K. The Jello Lamp is part of MAJU's extensive collection of contemporary home items made from entirely plant-based materials, merging Eastern and Western design elements.
