Maison Louis Marie Opens Second LA Boutique in Silver Lake

Maison Louis Marie, the Los Angeles-based fragrance house founded by Marie du Petit Thouars in 2012, has opened its second Los Angeles boutique in Silver Lake at 3920 Sunset Boulevard. The new outpost is the company's largest retail destination, designed by LA-based studio Via Clover, known for interiors for Alaïa, Dries Van Noten, and Chloé. Rather than a traditional storefront, the space is conceived as a lived-in apartment, with two-toned plaster walls, curved arches, and materials like silver travertine, solid oak, clay tile, blackened steel, and poured concrete. Custom furniture includes a sculptural stainless steel sink with travertine countertop and bespoke oak cabinetry with stone inlays. Textiles by Ronan Bouroullec and a rug by CC-Tapis soften the environment, with lighting by Volker Haug and Urban Electric Co. The brand's roots trace back to 18th-century French botanist Louis Marie Aubert du Petit Thouars, whose plant science informs the brand's philosophy. Du Petit Thouars and her husband have lived in Silver Lake for over a decade, making the store a homecoming. Maison Louis Marie products are also sold at Sephora, Ssense, Bluemercury, Credo, and Goop.
