Magnus Ferrell's Michelle Obama Podcast Moment Leads to 8-Million-Stream Hit and New EP 'Groove Therapy'

At just 22 years old, Magnus Ferrell, the son of actor Will Ferrell, has reached 8 million streams with his single "Asleep Talking," thanks to his father's endorsement on Michelle Obama's podcast, IMO. During the episode, Will introduced the song, leading Obama to praise Magnus's rhythm. Having met her for the first time at the age of 5, Magnus was taken aback by the exposure. This newfound popularity has resulted in endorsements from Khloe Kardashian and Heidi Klum, an opportunity to open for the Jonas Brothers, a performance at Outside Lands, and a residency at the Blue Note jazz club in Los Angeles. His recently released EP, Groove Therapy, features a jazz-influenced style. Magnus started piano lessons at 5 and has been inspired by various artists. His previous track "Slow Down" appeared in Will Ferrell's upcoming film, You're Cordially Invited, set for release in 2025.
