Madrid International Numismatic Event 2026 Features Ancient Egyptian Treasures
Scheduled for July 2 to 4, 2026, the International Numismatic Event will take place at the Hotel Palace, organized by Jesús Vico S.A., Sedwick & Associates LLC, and Luis Domingo. The convention is fully booked and will include an Extraordinary Auction on July 1, followed by the Segarra Collection auction on July 2, and lectures on July 3 and 4. An exhibition titled 'Ancient Egypt. Treasures of the Beyond' will display artifacts from the Egyptian Museum of Melilla (MEM), which opened its doors in February 2021. Founded by Gustavo Cabanillas (1958-2025), this collection boasts nearly 1,500 items, including Kerta's funerary trousseau and canopic jars. The Extraordinary Auction will offer over 600 coins, featuring rare pieces such as a morabetino of Alfonso IX (€23,000) and a Real de a Ocho from 1758 starting at €45,000.
