Madonna's Confessions II Wardrobe Draws from Her Personal Archive

Madonna's upcoming album 'Confessions II,' releasing July 3, is accompanied by a short film directed by Torso, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Stylist Rita Melssen curated the wardrobe by raiding Madonna's personal archive, combining iconic pieces with custom garments from Dolce & Gabbana. For a surprise Times Square performance with Grindr, Madonna wore a silver Frida Giannini-era Gucci jacket from the first 'Confessions' album, custom Dolce corsetry, Swarovski jewelry, vintage Dior sunglasses from Pechuga Vintage, and silver Saint Laurent boots from her archive. The short film features six songs, each with distinct fashion moments, including a custom PVC dress and a light pink shrug from Dolce spring 1998, a satiny light-blue Dolce club dress matching her 'Ray of Light' album cover, and a crystal bustier from fall 1991. Cameos include Kate Moss, Gwendoline Christie, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Melssen notes that the wardrobe reflects Madonna's history and the character of each scene. A tour is rumored.
