M17 Center for Contemporary Art Bridges Kyiv and Venice in New Exhibition

On July 30, 2026, the M17 Center for Contemporary Art in Kyiv will unveil 'Kyiv – Venice: New Dawns in Minor Keys,' an exhibition that creatively links the Dnipro River with the Venetian Lagoon. This initiative engages with the overarching theme of the 61st Venice Biennale, 'In Minor Keys,' curated by Koyo Kouoh, but instead of merely interpreting it, it presents a distinct narrative rooted in Ukrainian artistic heritage. The exhibition explores concepts of minority, ancient memory, nature, and personal transformation through Ukrainian archetypal symbols and mythological imagery. It aims to foster spaces for regeneration, collaboration, and dialogue, transforming M17 into a serene environment.
