Lydie Arickx installs 7-meter coral sculpture 'Le Souffle' at Saint-Eustache

French artist Lydie Arickx has installed 'Le Souffle', a 7-meter-high aluminum coral sculpture, at the Église Saint-Eustache in Paris. The work levitates under the central nave and was inaugurated on July 9, 2026. Arickx collaborated with her husband and son César, who handled engineering and spatial placement. The sculpture was cast at Fonderie Fusion and aluminum plates cut by AT2T. The piece is part of an exhibition running from July 10 to September 29, 2026, at the church, with a parallel show at Loo & Lou Gallery from July 10 to September 10, 2026. The environmental organization Coral Guardian is a partner, with QR codes in the church to promote marine conservation. Arickx describes the work as a 'solar sculpture' that interacts with the church's light and emphasizes ecological responsibility and the fragility of marine ecosystems.
