Luigi Ghirri's Photographic-Music Nexus Explored in Reggio Emilia
From 30 April 2026 to 28 February 2027, the Palazzo dei Musei in Reggio Emilia will host 'Luigi Ghirri. A Series of Dreams. Paesaggi visivi e paesaggi sonori.' This exhibition, curated by Ilaria Campioli, Andrea Tinterri, and Giulia Cavaliere, delves into the relationship between music and photography in Ghirri's oeuvre. As part of the 21st Fotografia Europea festival, it comprises three segments: the first highlights 'places of music' through images of theaters and pianos; the second features Ghirri's work with artists such as Lucio Dalla, including an unpublished dummy book for him; the final section, 'Oltre quei monti il mare,' connects Ghirri’s artistic vision with acoustic ecology through musician Iosonouncane.
