Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Opens Murals Gallery with Banksy, Diego Rivera and Judy Baca
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art celebrated its grand opening last month, unveiling a unique gallery dedicated to murals on its top floor. This exhibit showcases a replica of Diego Rivera's 1933 mural, originally created for Rockefeller Center but famously destroyed. Additionally, the gallery features twelve pieces by Banksy, including "Girl with Balloon" and a model for "Flag Man," with some works recreated directly from his studio. The gallery also displays sketches of Judy Baca's ongoing project "The Great Wall of Los Angeles." Notably, the Mellon Foundation provided a $5 million grant for the project in 2021.
