Luca Giovagnoli's Summer Dream and Sailing to Byzantium at Palazzi dell'Arte Rimini

The Palazzi dell'Arte in Rimini opens its summer season with two exhibitions: Summer Dream, a solo show by Luca Giovagnoli curated by Valentina Ciarallo, and Sailing to Byzantium, a group show curated by Richard Milazzo featuring six New York artists. Summer Dream presents over thirty works from recent years, depicting the Romagna Riviera as a site of memory and desire, with pastel colors evoking 1950s American Dream automobiles and Fellini's imagery. The figures inhabit suspended scenarios, embodying a melancholic, unattainable happiness. Sailing to Byzantium, previously at Palazzo Tito in Venice, includes Donald Baechler, Ross Bleckner, Peter Halley, Vik Muniz, Peter Nagy, and Walter Robinson, all protagonists of the 1980s New York scene. The title references William Butler Yeats's poem, exploring spiritual and artistic transformation. Both exhibitions run from June 26 to September 13, 2026, and are promoted by the Municipality of Rimini and the Emilia-Romagna Region.
