Luca Giovagnoli's metaphysical vacation paintings at Hotel Adriatico

Italian painter Luca Giovagnoli presents a new series of intimate, metaphysical works at a hotel gallery on the Adriatic coast. Departing from his usual soft-core style, Giovagnoli adopts a more atmospheric approach with looser brushwork and a muted palette of grays, greens, pinks, and ochres. The paintings evoke a suspended vacation time, with minimal figures and elements like inflatables and lifebuoys. The exhibition is held in the former TV room of a hotel that maintains an old-world elegance and houses a contemporary art library. Giovagnoli's new direction echoes Peter Doig, De Pisis, and Gerstl, aiming for a divergent speed and a more aerial, fragmented composition.
