Luara Beauty clinic in Brazil blends organic forms with clinical precision

architecture-design · 2026-07-01

Architect Mayra Casalli has transformed a 78-square-meter space in Pouso Alegre, Brazil, into a clinic for Luara Beauty that prioritizes organic forms, natural materials, and a delicate yet powerful visual identity. The project was conceived to evoke immediate comfort, countering the typical coldness of clinical environments. Key features include curved ceilings, natural stone finishes, a soft color palette, and a pink floral installation at the reception—designed at the client's request—which serves as the aesthetic heart of the clinic. Metallic gold details add texture and refinement without disrupting harmony. The layout ensures fluid circulation for both patients and staff, with an integrated reception and waiting area, and treatment rooms designed for calm through soft lighting, natural materials, and custom furniture. The main challenge was balancing technical requirements of an aesthetic medicine clinic with the delicate visual identity envisioned by the client, achieving operational efficiency alongside spatial atmosphere. The project appears in Glocal Design Magazine's 89th edition, 'Visionarias del espacio,' which features 15 female architects and interior designers expanding the conversation on architecture, design, and interiorism in Mexico. The issue has two collector covers by Prince Láuder and Jimena Estíbaliz.
