Louvre Abu Dhabi Announces Four Exhibitions for 2026-2027 Season

Louvre Abu Dhabi has unveiled its 2026-2027 season, featuring four new exhibitions exploring cultural connections across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. The season opens on July 18, 2026, with 'La grande aventure des jeux de plateau' at the Children's Museum, curated by Amine Kharchach and Orlane Lefeuvre, showcasing board games like chess, carrom, ludo, and mancala with objects from Egypt and Mesopotamia. From October 14, 2026, to February 14, 2027, 'Épices et merveilles : voyages dans l’océan Indien' in partnership with Musée national des Arts asiatiques – Guimet, curated by Dr Guilhem André and Dr Claire Déléry, covers a millennium of maritime trade from antiquity to the 17th century. 'Art Here 2026' and the Richard Mille Art Prize run from November 11, 2026, to February 28, 2027, curated by Kamini Sawhney, open to artists from GCC countries and India under the theme 'Confluences.' Finally, 'Héritages vivants : Préserver le patrimoine, restaurer l’espoir' from November 25, 2026, to April 25, 2027, in partnership with ALIPH, curated by Magdalena Ruiz, Dr Sandra Bialystok, and Dr Bastien Varoutsikos, highlights heritage protection in crisis zones. Lamya Al Nuaimi stated the season aims to foster global dialogue through art. Each exhibition includes trilingual catalogs, guided tours, podcasts, and educational programs.
