Lorena Bucur's Imperceptible Presence Frames Platea's Window in Lodi

exhibition · 2026-07-10

Lorena Bucur (Cremona, 1996) presents "Resto poco, torno presto" at Platea | Palazzo Galeano in Lodi, the third chapter of the group show "Fivefold Tuning" curated by Giovanna Manzotti for 2026. Bucur's works occupy the exterior pillars and interior architrave of the window display, using cement-printed photographs that fragment landscapes from the Lodi river area. The exhibition, running from March 2026 to January 15, 2027, features a sequence of artists: Liliana Moro (with mirrored walls and a yellow tube), Federica Balconi (wooden sculpture "Guastafeste"), and upcoming interventions by Diana Lola Posani and Andrea Di Lorenzo (September–November). Platea was founded in 2020 by Claudia Ferrari (president), Laura Ferrari (vicepresident), Carlo Orsini (artistic director), Luca Bucci (designer), Lorenzo Bucci (social media), and Gianluigi Corsi (treasurer). The educational program "Buon Compleanno Platea!" is curated by Bianca Basile with a workshop by Nicola Biagetti. Bucur's process involves analog photography printed on cement with varying sand and clay, creating unpredictable, memory-like imagery. The works engage with the window's threshold, reflecting in Moro's mirrors and interacting with the street, bus stop, and 17th-century building at Corso Umberto I, 46.
