Longboard's Aluminum Ceilings Bring Wood-Like Warmth to Healthcare

At the Culinary Health Fund in Las Vegas, Nevada, Longboard Architectural Products installed linear aluminum ceiling systems with wood-look finishes to balance perceptual comfort with technical demands. The project uses 6" Smooth T&G Planks and 1x4 Link & Lock profiles in circulation and gathering areas. Aluminum provides durability, hygiene, and low maintenance compared to natural wood, while the wood-look surfaces introduce texture, tonal depth, and visual continuity. The ceiling integrates lighting, acoustic systems, and technical infrastructure, acting as an active environmental layer. This hybrid approach reflects a shift in contemporary architecture where material performance and sensory quality are complementary.
