London's 2016 Winter Art Scene: From Caravaggio to Robot Design

The autumn art season in London during 2016 coincided with Frieze Week and included a variety of exhibitions. 'Beyond Caravaggio' at the National Gallery highlighted works from Caravaggio and his followers. The Royal Academy of Arts showcased 'Abstract Expressionists' alongside 'Intrigue: James Ensor by Luc Tuymans.' Exploring taste, the Barbican Centre presented 'The Vulgar: Fashion Redefined,' while the Wellcome Collection's 'Making Nature' focused on species classification. Helen Marten was declared the winner of the Turner Prize 2016 on December 5. Tate Modern hosted exhibitions on Rauschenberg and Parreno, with the Design Museum and V&A Museum of Childhood also offering innovative displays.
