Lisa of BLACKPINK Debuts Thai-Inspired Single "SaWaDiKa" at 2026 MTV VMAs

During the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, BLACKPINK's Lisa made her live debut with the single "SaWaDiKa." The performance showcased impressive choreography and high production quality, featuring Lisa in a dark red leotard, a black corset, and knee-high boots. The stage was adorned with Thai signage and a full-sized tuk-tuk, set against a backdrop of red-tinted visuals with urban dancers. "SaWaDiKa," a stylized version of sawatdee ka—a Thai greeting for women—combines rap elements with Thai phrases. Earlier that night, Lisa secured her fourth VMA by winning Best Pop Video for "Dream," which features Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi, surpassing competitors like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. Her Las Vegas residency sold out quickly, and her EP, Press Play, is due on October 23, with the VMA performance available online and the EP ready for pre-save on Spotify and Apple Music.
