Lisa Bradley: Beyond Luminosity Opens at Delaware Art Museum
On September 19, 2026, the Delaware Art Museum will unveil "Lisa Bradley: Beyond Luminosity," showcasing ten large paintings alongside eight works on paper. This exhibition is curated by Head Curator Margaret Winslow and Art Bridges Fellow Hilda Delgado. Born in 1951, Bradley’s abstract art is shaped by her spiritual experiences, evoking a feeling of suspended time. Art historian Carter Ratcliff notes that her creations illustrate "a pause between the pulses of some vast and luminous energy." Included in DelArt's collection since 2009, her work Akasa II will be featured. A 120-page monograph will provide commentary from various curators and critics, emphasizing DelArt's dedication to contemporary artists, including the 2018 oil painting Omnipresent, measuring 74 1/2 by 55 inches.
