Lionel Sabatté's Strange Creatures Take Over Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris
Lionel Sabatté, who has been nominated for the 2025 Prix Marcel Duchamp, will showcase his work in the exhibition titled « Ce qui reste. Lionel Sabatté » at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris from 15 October 2026 to 21 February 2027. This display occupies three levels and explores themes of loss and the relationship between humanity and nature. Notable pieces include the bronze deer sculpture Mort fertile (2026), oxidation works on wood cardboard, and large tapestries on the ground floor. The trophy room features metal owls and lovebirds in place of rifles, while the salon contrasts 17th-century hunting art with black sculptures. The second level presents enormous serigraphs and hybrid pollinators. Sabatté remarks, « Le dégoûtant m'intéresse. Mon travail va vers ces endroits entre le moi et le nous. »
