Life Model Sarah Housh on the Challenges of Nude Figure Modeling

other · 2026-10-05

Sarah Housh, a fine art model, recently opened up about her journey in nude figure modeling. Surprisingly, she finds the hardest part isn't being exposed, but the silence that comes with the job, which stops her from chatting or laughing. As someone who loves to talk, this makes the experience quite challenging for her. During sessions, she often has to stay perfectly still for about 20 to 25 minutes. One of her experiences includes a charcoal drawing created by a student from Eastern Illinois University in a life-drawing class. Additionally, there's a photo by Saanvi Seela of Housh at a four-day painting workshop with Timothy Rees at East Oaks Studio in Cary, North Carolina, featuring a student's work in progress.
