Libriste Brings Artist Books to Catania's Palazzo Manganelli Through October 10, 2026
Curated by Anna Guillot since 2018, On the contemporary showcases Libriste at Palazzo Manganelli in Catania, which is home to the Koobook Archive. This exhibition, previously held in Caltanissetta, derives its name from a term coined by Mirella Bentivoglio during her 1978 project at the Venice Biennale. Guillot emphasizes an innovative interplay between text and imagery. Notable pieces include Yoko Ono's Acorn, cubic books by Guillot, Chantal Vey's homage to Pasolini, Eline 't Sant's exploration of bodily experiences, and Hilde Margani Escher's textile art. Rossana Taormina's collages challenge notions of personal and spatial identity. Other participating artists are Gertrude Moser Wagner, Rossella Poidomani, and Marcella Barone. The exhibition is open until October 10, 2026.
