Liam Neeson Co-Produces 'The Lost Children of Tuam' on Catherine Corless's Tuam Babies Research

other · 2026-09-27

Co-produced by Liam Neeson, The Lost Children of Tuam premiered in Irish theaters on 25 September and is set to debut in the UK on 9 October. The film portrays Catherine Corless's investigation into the history of the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in Tuam, County Galway, which functioned from 1925 until 1961. In 2014, Corless uncovered 796 death certificates for children but found no records of their burials, drawing global attention. Neeson was motivated to adapt the story for the screen after reading a 2017 New York Times article. Monica Dolan portrays Corless, who commended the film's fidelity to the truth. Excavations at the site have revealed 77 infant remains. The film was awarded Best Irish Film at the 38th Galway Film Fleadh in July.
