Liaigre Designs New Underground Spa at Hôtel Costes in Paris
Liaigre has completed a new spa complex at Hôtel Costes in Paris, transforming the lower level into a 1,000-square-meter wellness retreat. The spa features a 20-meter swimming pool, a fitness area, and eight treatment rooms, using Augustinus Bader products. Lighting designer Arnold Chan of Isometrix collaborated on the project, creating soft illumination that highlights geometric ceiling patterns. The spa includes a Dolby Atmos sound system and a signature fragrance. Hôtel Costes, founded by brothers Jean-Louis and Gilbert Costes and originally designed by Jacques Garcia in 1995, has evolved through Jean-Louis Costes's partnership with Liaigre, also expanding into neighboring properties like the former Hôtel Lotti Paris. Creative Director Christophe Caillaud emphasized the design's focus on proportion, light, and material to create a calm, coherent space.
